Hello Readers! It’s Chaeyoon again!

Last day, I learned few jokes from somewhere. And I really want to show them to you guys!
P.S. These Characters names are from our class mate. And it’s not a real story.

Nicholas and Dominic are hunting when Dominic keels over. Frantic, Nicholas dials 911 on his cell phone and blurts, “My friend just dropped dead! What should I do?”
A soothing voice at the other end says, “Don’t worry, I can help. First, let’s make sure he’s really dead.”
After a brief silence, the operator hears a shot. Then Nicholas comes back to the phone. “Okay,” he says nervously to the operator. “What do I do next?”

A young man called directory assistance. “Hello, operator, I would like the telephone number for Catie in Phoenix, Arizona.””There are multiple listings for Catie in Phoenix,” the operator replied. “Do you have a street name?”
The young man hesitated, and then said, “Well, most people call me Ice Man.”

Brittany is crying. When a Ms. Smith came up and said,”Why are you crying” then Brittany says,”’Cause Michael G. broke my new doll!” Ms. Smith asks,” Well how did he do that?” Then she goes “I hit him on the head with it!”

Daniel W. shows up late for work. The boss yells, “You should’ve been here at 8:30!”
Daniel W. replies, “Why? What happened at 8:30?”

Two doctors and an HMO manager die and line up together at the Pearly Gates. One doctor steps forward and tells Saint Sophie, “As a pediatric surgeon, I saved hundreds of children.” St. Sophie lets him enter.
The next doctor says, “As a psychiatrist, I helped thousands of people live better lives.” St. Sophie tells him to go ahead.
The last man says, “I was an HMO manager. I got countless families cost-effective health care.”
St. Sophie replies, “You may enter. But,” she adds, “you can only stay for three days. After that, you can go to hell.”

Hi! It’s me again!

At social time, we studied about Courtroom. So I learned few things about them. So, I’m writing about the some people and things in courtroom. I’m going to write about some people in the courtroom, things in the courtroom, or….more.

Everybody in court has a important role to serve justice to the citizens and their community. I’m going to define and explain what their jobs are.

• Judge: The judge is listens carefully to everything that is said. He/She is decide what the punishment will be.
• Court Clerk-The Court clerk prepares the court’s schedule, and reads the charges of the accused.
• Investigating Officer: The investigating officer is the person(s) who has been charge with committing a crime.
• Crown Counsel/Attorney-The Crown counsel/Attorney is the lawyer for their province or territory.
• Court Reporter: The court reporter records everything that is said in the courtroom
• Defence Counsel/Attorney: The defence counsel are often in the lawyer that works for the person accused of a crime.
• The Press: Newspaper reporters are ofter in the courtroom to keeping everyone safe in the courtroom.
• Court Officer: The court officer is responsible for keeping everyone safe in the courtroom. 

And………

• Prisoner Box: The accused person will sit in the courtroom during the trial. It make prisoner to can not run away.
• Coat of Arms: In many courtroom, there is a Canadian coat of arms on the wall behind the judge. It’s an important symbol.
• Public Benches: Courtroom are open to the public. This helps to ensure that a trial is open an fair.
• Flags: In many courtroom has a flag. 

In Canadian courtroom, we try to make it as fair as possible! Courtroom is nerve racking for person who’s getting justice ’cause all of the other people except for the defence lawyers are trying to prove ’em guilty. In courtroom, they make it fair so they say the accused is not guilty until he/she is proven guilty. Judge’ll have to listen to what both the crown prosecutor.

Well, that’s all that I know about Canadian Courtroom. There are more people and Things in courtroom, But I couldn’t write ‘em all. Because, I don’t really know about them.

Hello, readers! It’s Chaeyoon!

What do you think the “Hero” is? A person from comic book or TV animation who save people?  Well, some of people will say that. Then is Hero are fake, or are they real? You might say they are fake (Or not).Well, I think Hero is real. Why are they real? Because I’m not talking about comic book or TV’s hero who’s saving people.

I’m talking about real hero.Then,who is our real hero? That’s not that hard question. Because there are no answer for that.  Why? Because there are million or trillion or zillion of hero in our world. Hero can be your parents, relative, teachers, friends…well, anybody can be our hero! For me, parents, and my favorite hero is my parents. Who born me…and feed me…and teaches me. And my second favorite hero is my teacher who teaches me a lot. Like my favorite teacher Ms.Smith. 

My parents and teachers are my hero. But they never fly over the world and saved kids from danger.

I think hero is a person who loves me and think about me a lot.

So, for you guys, who is your hero? And why?

P.S. Maple Story comic is my hero too. ‘Cause I can not alive with out it. ^_^

Hi, it’s me. Have I already told you about the Maple Story characters? Oh! I’ve only told you what Maple Story is. Now I’m telling you about the characters.

There are eight main characters in Maple Story. Their names are Dodo, Shumi, Bow, Aroro, Juka, Kairin, Deliky and his pet Tunstern. And I’ll tell you about them.

Dodo

Dodo is a boy who really wants to be a great hero. He is a polite guy, but sometimes he is mean. He uses a sword to fight with evil monsters.I think he fight almost every time. And that’s kind of mean.  He doesn’t have any magic power, but he’s extremely powerful.

He has pink hair (What kind of boy’s hair is pink?!) and his eyes are always closed. I wonder how he can fight with closed eyes. He has a girlfriend named Shumi.

Shumi

She is the only daughter of the greatest Goddess. This Goddess made the Maple World. Maybe that’s why this comic is called Maple Story. However her life is hard because almost every monster hates that Goddess and Shumi is her daughter, so they always attack her. She’s a really polite girl, but I don’t really like her because she’s not really strong enough. Oh, and, Maple Story 31, her mind becomes like a baby because of one bad evildoer! No~!

Aroro

Aroro’s parents were killed by monsters when he was a little baby.  He never knew he was a rich guy, but he is. Aroro is king of the Under Sea city. He has lots of skills, and he uses a knife to fight.  He’s a little skinny for a boy.  Also, he has a mark on his right cheek and left eye.  He uses a bandage to hide the mark that is on his right cheek.  And that mark means he’s the king of the Under Sea city. I like him when he isn’t wearing his hat

However, it’s okay to wearing a hat. Aroro’s girlfriend’s name is Juka. But now he’s usually playing with Kairin. So I’m not sure who does he like…..

Juka

She is one kind of monster, but she is a little different. She can change into person. She is the princess of Orbis and the monsters’ kingdom. Her mom died when she was in kindergarten, and her dad was killed because of a monster named Kapistrose. She likes Aroro(maybe), but her dad hated him. So he never let Juka play with him. Juka doesn’t have magic skills or anything, but if she drinks a special potion, she can change into something powerful.

Deliky

Deliky is not strong enough, but he’s the best wizard in that comic book!

He was just a normal person who wanted to be a great wizard. When he became one of Dodo’s Maple team, he became the greatest wizard! He’s great, so some of the evildoers want him. In Maple Story number 29, an evil person got him! This was the same villain who turned Shumi’s mind into a baby. That evil person made him forget everything and all of the other people forget about him. The evil person made him into her servant (sort of).   Now he is enemies with his friends, because he became evil! His Girlfriend is Bow, but he forgot her and she forgot him too.

Bow

Bow is the greatest, mightiest girl that I’ve ever seen. She’s an archer. She’s really a strong girl, like Dodo. She’s a girl, but most people who haven’t seen the Maple Story Comic before think she’s a guy. Strange. Bow is a really nice girl, but she eats so much. For example, if a normal person eats 1, then she eats 100.

Sometimes Bow does dirty or yucky things. I wonder, if Deliky hates dirty or yucky things, then why does he love Bow? OK, she’s a nice strange girl. 

Kairin

Kairin is my favorite girl character! She thinks she’s kind of a princess, but no way! Well, she’s a pirate girl. Kairin was born on pirate ship and she has lived on pirate ship all her life. Kairin never went school, but she is a really smart girl. What happened?

She never met any friends. Maybe her friends are men… She never played dolls even when she was a little baby. She only fought and practiced how to use guns. She practiced for more than 10 years, so she’s really good at using guns. She has good aim when she closes her eyes. One day she met dodo. Maybe it was the first time she met a friend. It made her into a new person. Yeah! Go! Kairin!  

Tunstern

Tunstern is a Magic Pet who was made by Deliky. She’s a fox, and she has nine tails. However, nobody knows she’s a nine tail fox, because she’s so fat. Everybody thinks she’s a cat, pig, dog or something else. Even Deliky does. He knew it at one time, but he forgot it. Tunstern has really great magic. Tunstern likes Deliky, but he has girlfriend. Too bad! Oh! She can change in to a person when she jump three times, but she’s very fat, so she can’t jump. This is why she can’t change into a person any more. In Maple Story 29, Tunstern started diet. Good luck!   

And…………….I buy maple story 33 Today! It’s really cool story! Lot’s of fighting and….there was sad story too.It was so sad so I cried too.

And there are one creepy hairy grandpa monster who can spiti out dragon and kill everybody with one shot.(?)

And you might not belive what was that creepy monster. (Do you want to know who is he? But it’s so hollerious, I can’t tell you. If you really want to know, ask me with your comment… Got it?

One bad thing there was no Juka and Tunstern on Maple Story 33.

Yesterday was the Earth Day.

Yesterday, our class went out side and wrote about what we felt about the Nature. It was very awesome. I thought Nature is only the green and blue things around us, but I knew I was wrong. When me and my class mates wrote about nature, we felt really peaceful and comfortable. We knew we should save the Earth. Now, I love Earth Day.

And I wrote a poem about Nature.  Well, it’s not really a great poem because it’s my first time writing a poem, and I’m not really good at Language Art.

Beautiful Nature is Everywhere    By Chaeyoon Oh

The outlook for the day called for sunshine
There won’t be darkness in the sky
The day would be very clear, just pretty  and clear
Because Nature is everywhere.

The birds and the flowers are singing
And trees and the grasses are talking to us
Their voices make us feel comfortable
Great voices are everywhere.

Just look at the tree
Just stare at the grass and flowers
Just look at them very carefully
You can see a beautiful piece of art from Nature
Beautiful art is everywhere.

Wonderful mountains and amazing trees
Beautiful sky and colorful flowers
I’m so glad I can see them
I wish this day were never end.

Have you ever heard about DARE? Well, DARE is stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. DARE told me lots of things. Like…What is tobacco, Marijuana, and Alcohol. And they told me ways to be in Charge. And I will give you some information about them.

First, I will give you some Facts about Tobacco.

Under Canada’s Tobacco Act it is illegal for Canadian retailer to sell cigarettes to anyone under the age of eighteen. The poison in cigarettes can affect your appearance. Smoking can dry out your skin and cause wrinkles, yellows your teeth and fingers and gives you bad breath, and it can make your clothes and hair smelly. Smoking causes shortness of breath and dizziness, and chewing tobacco causes dehydration. It can be really hard to play sports if you use tobacco.

Second, I will give you some Facts about Marijuana.

Marijuana contains more then 400 chemicals including some of the same cancer causing substances found in tobacco. There is more tar in marijuana smoke than in tobacco smoke. And marijuana users have an increased risk of cancer.

Third, I will give you some Facts about Alcohol.

Teen bodies are still growing; therefore alcohol affects them more severely. Alcohol is a “depressant” drug. It slows down parts of your brain that affects your thinking, behavior, breathing and hearth rate. 341ml of beer, 142ml of wine and 43ml of liquor all contain the same amount of alcohol. And Alcohol slows down the brain and body.

And now, I will tell you how to be in charge! 

*Staying Out of Risky Situations

We have 4 ways to staying out of risky situation. And I’ll tell you how!

First, if you know of places where people often use drugs, stay away from those places. Second, you should hang around with nonusers, especially where drug use is expected. Third, if someone say “Let’s some with some marijuana!” then say “No” and walk away while saying it. Forth, if someone says “Hey! Do you want to smoke?” Then just ignore the person.

*Getting Out of Risky Situations

We have 5 ways to getting out of risky situation. And I’ll tell you how!

First, if someone says “Would you like a drink?” then just say “No”. Second, you can give a reason or fact. Like…if someone says “Would you like a beer?” then you can say “No thanks, my parents would ground me for life.” Third, you can change the subject, like… if someone says, “I have a cigarettes. Want some?” then you say, “No, let’s play soccer instead. Forth, you can repeat refusal, or keep saying no like skipping CD. If someone says “Would you like a cigarette?” then you say “No, it’s not me.” Then that person might say “Hey, come on!” Then you say “No, it’s not me!” again. Fifth, you can use humor. If someone says “You want some marijuana?” then you can say “No. I need my brain cells”. 

These are all about the things that I learned in DARE.

Hello! It’s Chaeyoon. I have lot of things you don’t know before! And I’ll tell you NOW!

·     My favorite TV program is THE BACKYARDIGANS, even I’m grade6. (Lot’s of people will know that before.)

·     I’ve never played with girls; I was play with only guys when I was in Korea, so lot of people in our class calls me guy. Even my teacher!!!! But I’m girl you know… my friends saying my voice is boy’s voice. Is it right? ( I’m asking to my class mate)

·     My favorite lullaby is Really Scary Story. But I don’t really scare about anything…

·     For me, night mare is really great dream!

And…..

·     I hate art           just kidding…… 

Maybe you might wonder why I so love Backyardigans, never played with girl before, lullaby am Scary Story, and Nightmare is really great dream? OK, I’ll tell ya!

•     Why I so love The Backyardigans even if it’s baby program? Remember I’m not Canadian. I studied English for only almost 2~3 years. I don’t really understand what does Backyardigans talking about. So “I love Backyardigans” doesn’t mean that I love there story. That mean I like those characters, and music melody (I don’t have MP3 and Ipod). I’m watching Backyardigans to study English and listen to music.

•     Why I didn’t play with girls before? And why they call me guy to just play with guys? Korean girls are very different with Canadian girls. Korean girls that I know are just like to play calmly. And almost girls don’t running through the fields. When I go to their Birthday Party, They just play blogging. And I hate these kinds of things. But boys have lots of jokes, and play very fun games. They are not calm. When I go to their Birthday Party, well, they play computer to… But they go outside and play. So I decided to play with only boys. Then I became one of Boy. Korea is weird. Korean girls hate to play with girls, and boys hate to play with girls. But I broke their rules, I don’t like that rules.  

•   Why your lullaby is Scary Story?   Nobody told me really scary stuffs. So I really want to find real scary story. But there was no one to tell me real scary story. So I decided to read a scary book every night. And when I read that Goose Bumps before night, my feel was really great! I can sleep very well. Before I didn’t read scary book before night, I can’t slept well. Now it’s changed! So, I knew my lullaby is Scary Story.

•    Why? Why Nightmare is great dream?  You know I don’t scare about anything. But I don’t think the word ”I don’t scare about anything!” and “Nightmare” is different. “I don’t scare about anything!” is only a word that I’m talking, and “Nightmare” is a dream that really makes you scare. Yeah, my Nightmare makes me scare too. If it’s scare me, then, why I so love’em? Because Nightmare is just like cool adventure! Spooky cool adventure!

Well, these are all about the things you don’t know about me. Isn’t that cool?

Hi everybody! It’s Chaeyoon again!

Do you guys know what does Korea’s blog looks like? It’s little bit different with this Edublog. So I want to show you guys about Korea’s popular site’s blog, Naver blog.

In Korea. There’s two kind of blog. One thing is my little own blog and another blogs are like…internet club. And that club blogs call Cafe. And please don’t click any link. Why? because I’m afraid you might not understand the Korean word and feel very dusy. Or not…

About Naver Blog Cafe

There are zillion cafe in www.naver.com, but I’ll show you  only my favorite Cafe in Korea. In that blog cafe, there are more than 50000 people . That cafe’s manager ( Who make that club ) is who draw Maple Story Comic Book. So that cafe’s name is Comic Maple Story Offline RPG Cafe. His name is Jungen Seou. And his user name is Geguli, which mean frog.  Are you wondering how to join in that Cafe? that’s really easy. First, juse create your account in naver site and click button of “cafe” and go to his cafe. And all at the bottom of that cafe, and click, Join the Cafe. Then few questions appear. answer these question. than you’ll become one of cafe’s member. Sometime if you use really bad word, Manager might kick you out from his cafe. So, be-careful. Well, is every cafe are that easy to join in? answer is No. Some cafe are not easy to join in. On locked cafe, when you click Join button, you need to wait until manager says “yes”. And in hidden cafe, you can’t join by yourself. Manager have to invite to cafe. OK, in Maple cafe, My user name is Sarong ( My kitty doll’s name ). Korea people don’t usually like to proove their name, so they make their Internet user-name. I love Maple Cafe. Everybody can post on that cafe with no allowed. If I upload my Maple picture in Cafe’s Art conner, Frog might chose my picture and make my picture in Comic book ( I was in comic one time). And we can make our own comic and book to. I love ‘em.

And who’s in naver site, everybody has there own blog. We can’t have two users in blog. Only one blogger. OK ? I don’t really care about my blog I care about cafe. Because Korea people don’t really comments on blog. And I don’t like that. They usually comment on cafe. I just upload picture on my blog. Not my writing. Well, Korea’s blogs are almost same as edublog. Got it ? Oh, and here’s naver blog site and… I will not show you guys my own blog. Because there are my grade 2 art. And It’s kind of creepy for every body.

Well, these are all about Korea’s naver’s blogging. It’s different with Edublog, but it’s cool. What do you think about Naver’s cafe blog and just blog? please comment what you thinking.

I love food very much. So my mom calls me pig.

My favorite after school snack is chocolate, but my mom doesn’t buy it very often. So I can’t eat it very much. But I love something else for a snack after school..for me.

It’s just same as sushi. But it’s not call sushi. It’s my  second favorite  Korean food. What is first? well…………. maybe, rice cake? that’s such a funny name but it’s good. rice cake is not the snack. That my second favorite Korean food is call Kimbab. Kim means seaweed, and bab means rice.

Do you know how to make it? It’s really simple, but maybe there are some ingredient that are hard to get in Comox. (I live in Comox) That hard ingredient is called…..Danmuzi. Look at the picture? Danmuzi is that yellow stuff. Ha ha~

Do you know how to make them? Well, I’ll tell ya!

1.  1. Put a big flat seaweed.
2. 2. Put a rices flatly on the seaweed. 
3. 3. Now, put a long piece of ham, egg, carrot, Danmuzi on the seaweed and rice.
4.  roll it really tightly. 
5.  slich them each 1.5~2 cm. and eat them.

Well. that’s all. Try that kimbab. That’s really good. 

And… I’ll tell you one Horrible snack in Korea. Crickets are Korean people’s favorite after snack. My mom eat them and my grandma  eat ‘em too. Terrible… isn’t it?
